Will Michael Carrick be sacked? Man United manager says he doesn’t know

After Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford, Michael Carrick said he did not know what would happen next and would do what was best for the club. United are winless in eight matches in all competitions and sit just one point above the relegation zone. Asked whether he expected to be sacked in the coming days, Carrick said he was carrying on as normal. Fans initially showed support for the manager before turning on the players; Carrick’s decision to leave captain Bruno Fernandes on the bench backfired after Fernandes had criticised his tactics.
