World AI Film Festival: Applications Officially Open in Abidjan

The WAIFF Africa – Abidjan 2027 officially opened its applications on September 24, 2026, at the Ivoire Hotel, with submissions due by December 31. The event, led by Fatim Cissé Kouadio, gathered institutions, cinema professionals, creators, partners, and media to promote audiovisual creation in the age of artificial intelligence. She emphasized the human role in this technological revolution and urged African creators to showcase their cultures, languages, and myths through AI. Minister of Communication Amadou Coulibaly praised the initiative to position Africa as a major player in audiovisual production.
