World Cup 2026: $20 million worth of counterfeit goods seized in Hong Kong

Hong Kong authorities have seized 230,000 suspected counterfeit articles worth an estimated $20 million, including 30,000 football jerseys linked to the 2026 World Cup. Some jerseys were so well-made that they were hard to distinguish from official ones. The chief customs inspector noted that demand for merchandise is expected to be high due to the tournament's scale, which is being held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
