FIFA has updated the rules regarding red cards during the World Cup following controversial incidents involving Gianluca Prestianni and the Senegal team. Players can now receive a red card if they cover their mouth while insulting another player. This rule, although optional, was unanimously approved by the International Football Association Board during a meeting in Vancouver.
