World Generosity Ranking: Africa Dominates with 4 Countries in Top 5

According to the 2025 Charities Aid Foundation ranking, four of the five most generous nations are in Africa: Nigeria (2.83% of income donated), Egypt (2.45%), Ghana (2.19%), and Kenya (2.13%), with China (2.19%) tied for fourth. The survey of 50,000 people across 101 countries shows that low-income countries give proportionally more (1.45%) than wealthy ones (0.70%). Africa is the most generous continent with an average donation of 1.54% of income, compared to Europe's 0.64%.
