World Heart Day: Populations Invited to Act to Protect Their Cardiovascular Health

On September 29, 2026, Ivory Coast celebrated World Heart Day in Anyama, organized by the Ministry of Health and partners. The event aimed to raise awareness about cardiovascular risk factors and promote preventive behaviors among authorities, health professionals, and the public. The Secretary General of the Abidjan Cardiology Institute emphasized the importance of screening and healthy lifestyles, including balanced diet, physical activity, and quitting smoking. She urged policymakers to strengthen prevention policies and improve access to screening to reduce cardiovascular disease mortality.
