Woyofal: New Clarifications from SENELEC on Tariffs

The General Director of SENELEC, Papa Toby Gaye, explained that the rapid depletion of Woyofal credits is not due to a tariff increase, but to rising electricity consumption. He noted that the production cost of electricity varies by power plant, citing Scaling Solar at 27-30 CFA francs per kilowatt-hour, compared to 48 CFA francs for the Sendou coal plant. Gaye also addressed the issue of average pricing and suspicions of faulty meters, stating that there is no widespread problem.
