Cambérène: Seizure of 67 Decoders in a TV Piracy Investigation

An operation in Cambérène 1 led to the seizure of 67 decoders and various transmission equipment involved in the illegal broadcasting of channels such as Canal+ International, StarTimes, beIN Sports, and SuperSport International. Babacar Diop, known as « Mbaye Laye TV », was brought before the prosecutor as part of the investigation conducted by the National Brigade against piracy. The illegal setup, located in a building rented by the owner, distributed pirated signals across several neighborhoods including Cambérène, Parcelles Assainies, and Golf-Sud. The seized equipment included decoders, fiber optic receivers, amplifiers, racks, a modem, and other transmission devices.
