The Gambia: Students protest living and study conditions

Students at the University of The Gambia protested in Banjul on Monday over their living and study conditions. The government announced measures on Saturday and called for constructive dialogue, but the crisis continued. Their demands include food, drinking water, internet access and transport at the Faraba campus, and the student union has set a deadline for action. The protest comes weeks after demonstrations over persistent power cuts in the country.
