Burkina: Gold production jumps by 39.6% in June

In June 2026, gold production in Burkina Faso reached 4,477 tons, marking a 39.6% increase compared to the previous year. The cumulative production by the end of June stands at 26,752 tons, representing 50.5% of the annual target of 52,938 tons. The mining sector contributed 14.8% to the GDP in 2023, generating 762.7 billion FCFA in revenue for the state. A loan agreement was approved to enhance the capacities of the Boungou and Wahgnion mines.
