The Nigerian government is considering taking the issue of recurring xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa to the African Union. Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sola Enikanolaiye said South Africa is undermining continental solidarity by tolerating the violence. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, head of NiDCOM, denounced the inaction of South African authorities and called for a strong response.
