Xenophobia in South Africa: Kinshasa activates monitoring system to protect Congolese

The Congolese government has strengthened its monitoring and consular assistance system in Pretoria to protect Congolese victims of xenophobia in South Africa. Minister Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner reported a resurgence of xenophobic acts, particularly in Durban, where residences of foreign nationals were targeted. No deaths have been reported, but several Congolese have been injured or suffered significant material losses.
