Yaba psychiatric hospital nurses demand better pay, welfare

Nurses at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Yaba, Lagos, called on the Federal Government to improve their welfare and working conditions during the 2026 Nurses’ Week celebration. Prof. Adeshina Badru emphasized the critical role of psychiatric nurses in suicide prevention and patient support. Head of Nursing Services, Mrs. Alonge Kehinde, advocated for better professional development and working conditions. Nurses expressed concerns about professional migration and requested increased support from the government and NGOs.
