Yachine Trophy 2026: Édouard Mendy returns to the top 10

Senegalese Al-Ahli goalkeeper Édouard Mendy finished ninth in the 2026 Yachine Trophy rankings, announced at the Ballon d’Or ceremony. He placed behind Morocco’s Yassine Bounou in eighth and ahead of Switzerland’s Gregor Kobel in tenth; Spain’s Unai Simón won the award, ahead of David Raya and Thibaut Courtois. Mendy returned to the rankings after missing three editions, having finished second in 2021 and fourth in 2022. The recognition follows a notable 2025-26 season with Al-Ahli, which won the AFC Champions League, and success with Senegal, crowned African champions in Morocco.
