Yamoussoukro: Land Issues at the Heart of a National Forum on Social Cohesion

A national forum was held in Yamoussoukro from September 24 to 26, 2026, to address land issues and their impact on social cohesion in Côte d'Ivoire. Organized by the Mediator of the Republic, it brought together political, administrative, traditional, religious, and civil society actors to develop recommendations for better land management, conflict prevention, and land rights security. Gaoussou Touré emphasized dialogue and mediation as tools to prevent conflicts, while Téné Birahima Ouattara called for consensus-based solutions. The aim is to reduce land disputes by raising awareness and increasing procedural transparency.
