Yaoundé: The Exact Circumstances of the Arrest of Four Journalists for Alleged Theft of Ousmane Mey's Glasses - Lebledparle

Four journalists, François Essomba, Igor Gwet Bibey, Solange Djuikam, and Pierre Mouchili, were arrested on September 16, 2026, at the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé following the disappearance of glasses belonging to Minister Alamine Ousmane Mey. They were first taken to the 10th arrondissement police station in Bastos and then transferred to the Central Police Station No. 1 in Yaoundé. The National Union of Information and Communication Professionals (SPIC) condemned the conditions of their arrest and has initiated legal actions to clarify the circumstances surrounding this incident.
