Yelewata genocide memorial unveiled, honours 270 victims - Daily Post Nigeria

A memorial monument for the Yelewata genocide was unveiled on June 12, 2026, in the farming community of Yelewata, Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, Nigeria. The monument bears the names of over 270 victims of the attacks on June 13 and 14, 2025. It was unveiled by Judd Saul, CEO of Equipping the Persecuted, and facilitated by lawyer Franc Utoo. Catholic Bishop of Makurdi, Wilfred Anagbe, opposed permanent resettlement of displaced persons, advocating for return to ancestral lands.
