Yemeni Government and Houthis Trade Blame for Deadly Strikes on Taiz Market

Yemeni government forces and the Houthis have accused each other of attacking al-Hadara market in Taiz governorate, where dozens of people were reportedly killed or injured. The Houthis blamed Saudi Arabia for three air strikes that they said killed at least 30 civilians and wounded eight; government forces’ spokesperson, Colonel Majed al-Nazili, said the Houthis had fired ballistic missiles at the market. Al Jazeera could not independently verify the reports, and the Saudi-led coalition had not responded. Fighting continues in al-Waziiya district, while the Yemeni army says it recaptured several areas in Taiz on Friday.
