Yemeni government forces report advances as Houthis say deadly strikes hit Sanaa

Yemeni government forces say they repelled Houthi assaults in Marib province and advanced into Houthi-held areas of al-Jawf, where fighting entered its third day. Army spokesman Colonel Majed al-Nazili said forces carried out 875 attacks on Saturday, “neutralised” about 130 Houthi commanders and fighters, and destroyed or disabled 50 vehicles and missile launchers; Al Jazeera could not independently verify the claims. The Houthis, meanwhile, said strikes on al-Shariya village in Sanaa province killed at least 27 people and wounded about 30, most of them women and children. They blamed the Saudi-led coalition, and Houthi leader Mahdi al-Mashat vowed to “avenge” the attack.
