Yemeni government forces seize strategic positions in al-Jawf

Yemen’s internationally recognised government says its forces recaptured military positions and strategic heights east of al-Hazm, the capital of al-Jawf governorate. The army’s media centre said the 1st Emergency Brigade seized weapons and ammunition depots, with Houthi fighters killed, wounded or captured and armoured vehicles destroyed. The Houthis said they had thwarted government advances in al-Jawf and neighbouring Marib. Fighting and the siege around Taiz are worsening the humanitarian crisis by restricting access to food, fuel and medical supplies.
