Ned Nwoko Pays Tribute to Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s Mother, a Champion of Women’s Rights

Senator Ned Nwoko offered condolences to WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala following the death of her mother, Professor Kamene Okonjo, at the age of 96. He praised the sociologist and scholar as a champion of women’s rights and empowerment whose legacy extends beyond her family. Nwoko also sent condolences to the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku, Ifechukwude Anishi Okonjo II, and the Okonjo family, and prayed they would find strength as they mourn.
