Young Engineer of the Year Sachin Ravjee wants to build more than bridges

Sachin Ravjee, a 33-year-old bridge engineer, was named 2026 Young Engineer of the Year by SAICE. He is shaping South Africa’s infrastructure future through bridge projects, mentoring, and developing future civil engineers. Originally from Secunda, he emphasizes mentorship as part of his contribution alongside infrastructure work. Ravjee, an associate at Zutari, received the award at the SAICE National Awards in Sandton on September 3.
