Young adults in Sub-Saharan Africa show the best global mental health scores, according to the _Global Mind Health in 2025_ report by Sapien Labs. Those aged 18-34 in Ghana have an average score of 69, compared to just 36 for their American counterparts. Despite a global generational crisis, Africa benefits from protective factors such as strong family ties and late smartphone adoption. However, investments in mental health remain inadequate across the continent.
