Madiambal Diagne says Walf TV director Moustapha Diop contacted his lawyer, Me Ousmane Thiam, to express regret after a complaint was filed against Walf TV, Cheikh Bara Ndiaye and Assane Messere. The head of Groupe Avenir Communication says he will maintain the complaint filed with the Dakar prosecutor’s office. He says he will continue to take legal action against media outlets that, in his view, attack him while denying him the right to respond.

Indian pilot Smit Machchhar told Sky News Arabia about being attacked with an axe in the cockpit of a flydubai flight bound for Tel Aviv. Injured in the head and hand, he tried to open the cockpit door to let another pilot in before the aircraft plunged. The UAE attorney general said the 29-year-old Omani co-pilot planned a suicide attack on the Ben Gurion Airport terminal, though investigators are still checking whether he acted alone. Another pilot on board, assisted by a crew member and passengers, subdued the attacker and regained control, and the plane made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia.
