Uganda is financing the construction of a new Ebola Treatment Center (CTE) in Butembo, North Kivu province, after declaring the end of Ebola on its territory. Currently, the 17th Ebola epidemic, caused by the Bundibugyo strain, has recorded 823 confirmed cases and 574 deaths in the region.
