Zambian son of Bishop Trevor Mwamba detained in post-election raid fears for his father's safety

The son of detained Zambian opposition politician Bishop Trevor Mwamba told the BBC he is worried about his father's safety after the former Bishop of Botswana was detained along with 10 other opposition figures by authorities. Eno Mwamba said his father, leader of the United National Independence Party, has been charged with treason following President Hakainde Hichilema's disputed election victory. The opposition figures have been held since a security raid on August 14, and opposition leader Brian Mundubile, who had gone into hiding after disputing the election results, has also been detained. The government accuses the opposition of planning an armed insurgency, which they deny.
