Zamfara 2027: Governor Lawal and 14 other candidates sign peace accord

Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal and 14 other candidates for the 2027 elections signed a peace accord at an election security summit organised by the police in Gusau. The signatories pledged not to disrupt electoral processes before, during or after the vote. Police Commissioner Ahmed Mohammed Bello Daga warned that violators would be prosecuted. Deputy Commissioner Kabir Abdul Randawa pledged adequate security and urged political parties to avoid intimidation and violence.
