Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games: Traffic plan and Corniche restrictions

Ahead of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, a special traffic plan will be enforced on the Corniche Ouest to allow equipment installation, athlete training and events, including cycling. Presented by Chief Police Commissioner Idrissa Thiandoum, the closures will take place at several times from November 3 to 10 under prefectural order No. 393 of October 21, 2026. Detours will direct motorists between the Almadies, Ouakam, Fann-Résidence and downtown areas, while parking will be prohibited on several roads. Emergency vehicles, security forces and vehicles accredited by the organizing committee may receive exemptions.
