Zero blood-alcohol limit proposed as thousands die on SA roads

Transport Minister Barbara Creecy announced that a bill to introduce a zero blood-alcohol limit for drivers may be introduced in South Africa. Over 6,000 road deaths have been recorded this year, and more than 18,000 people were arrested for drunk driving between March and August. The government aims to halve road fatalities by 2030, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
