Zimbabwe: New ZiG Banknotes Enter Circulation As Old Notes Set for Phase-Out

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) announced the rollout of new ZWG notes, dubbed the Big Five, starting April 7, 2026. These notes aim to enhance the quality of circulating currency and will be introduced in phases, beginning with ZWG10 and ZWG20 notes. The old ZWG notes will continue to coexist with the new ones until they are automatically phased out through bank deposits.
