Guinea-Bissau’s ruling junta announced a partial easing of restrictions on political parties imposed after the November 2025 coup. From November 24, parties may hold internal meetings to prepare their congresses and organize political consultations, provided they first notify the military high command. Political rallies, marches and street demonstrations remain prohibited. Presidential and legislative elections are scheduled for December 6, but the electoral commission says conditions are not in place; no postponement has been officially announced.
