Dakar Governor Announces New Traffic Measures

In an order signed on October 20, Dakar Governor Ousmane Kane set traffic and parking rules for Saturday, October 31, on the Autoroute de l’Avenir and around the Abdoulaye-Wade Stadium in Diamniadio. Between Patte-d’Oie and Blaise Diagne International Airport, the left lane will be reserved for Olympic traffic, heading toward Diamniadio from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and reversing direction until 11:30 p.m.; trucks over 3.5 tonnes are barred except with authorization for local deliveries. Exit 11 will be limited to vehicles bearing a COJOJ pass, while exits 10 and 12 remain open on marked routes. Only accredited vehicles and Games-designated public transport will enter security zones, and spectators are encouraged to use shuttles and pedestrian routes.
