Zungula promises to reopen Johannesburg Metro Centre within 100 days

Vuyo Zungula, leader of the African Transformation Movement and Johannesburg mayoral candidate, has pledged to reopen the Metro Centre within his first 100 days in office. He says the city cannot remain a bargaining chip in coalition negotiations and that repeated leadership changes have undermined policy continuity and accountability. Zungula proposes professionalising the municipal administration through merit-based appointments and written coalition agreements with service-delivery priorities and shared performance targets.
