Abidjan: Spraying Device for the Lagoon, What We Know About the Daily Fragrance

In Abidjan, an automatic spraying device releases a fragrance daily to mitigate the unpleasant odors from the Ébrié lagoon, particularly in Treichville, Marcory, and Cocody. Supplied by 1,000-liter tanks, the product, named AIRHITONE, is an odor inhibitor marketed by the French company Westrand. The system, operational since 2023, runs 24/7 and covers several kilometers along the lagoon's banks. This project, inspired by European initiatives, aims to neutralize unpleasant emissions related to domestic waste and industrial discharges.
