US judge blocks Trump’s latest effort to limit birthright citizenship

A federal judge in Maryland, Deborah Boardman, has blocked Donald Trump's latest attempt to roll back birthright citizenship after the Supreme Court ruled that his previous effort violated the Constitution. The executive order, issued on August 6, aimed to deny citizenship to children of certain groups of foreign nationals. Boardman stated that the order was almost certainly unconstitutional, citing the Supreme Court's decision in the case Barbara v Trump, which affirmed that birthright citizenship is protected under the Fourteenth Amendment.
