Douédy-Guezon, clean village without wild waste: ANAGED equips villagers

On Thursday, June 11, 2026, the National Agency for Waste Management (ANAGED) delivered sanitation equipment to Douédy-Guezon in the Guiglo department. The donation includes 15 machetes, 15 shovels, 15 vests, 15 pairs of boots, 10 trash bins, garbage bags, and a collection tricycle. A team of twenty volunteers was formed to coordinate cleaning and awareness campaigns. Village chief GNONSOA KONAN Émile personally donated a brush cutter to support the project.

60 days after: Families of 13 abducted passengers along Biu-Damaturu road cry for help

Families of 13 passengers, including a 7-month-old baby, abducted on April 15, 2026, along the Biu-Buratai-Kamuya road by suspected ISWAP/Boko Haram insurgents, have pleaded with the government and security agencies to intensify rescue efforts. Speaking on behalf of the families in Maiduguri, Mr. Hassan Yati said 60 days have passed with no word from the victims, leaving relatives in pain and uncertainty. While the families rejoice over the recent rescue of 360 women, children and men from Ngoshe and 11 fisherwomen from Askira Uba, their joy remains incomplete as their loved ones are still in captivity. They also called for rehabilitation of the Biu-Damaturu road segment to reduce vulnerability for commuters.
