US Global Financial Integrity joins the African Union Board to fight against corruption and illicit flows

The African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption (AUABC), based in Arusha, Tanzania, signed a memorandum of understanding with Global Financial Integrity (GFI), a Washington DC-based think tank. The agreement was signed by AUABC Chairperson Kwami Edem Senanu and GFI Policy Director for Africa Philip Nyakundi Gichana. Senanu noted that the continent loses over $125 billion annually to corruption, equivalent to 50% of tax revenue and more than 25% of GDP. The partnership aims to strengthen anti-corruption efforts and mobilize additional funds.
