Delta: Stakeholders trade blame over Utorogun IPP failure seven years after

Seven years after the announcement of the Utorogun Independent Power Project (IPP), stakeholders are still blaming each other for its failure. Zik Gbemre, a resident of Iwhrekan, accused the PGMoU structure and former NPDC of failing to disclose certain information. Communities were not informed they would need to purchase gas to operate the facility once completed, and concerns have been raised about the lack of transparency and absence of backup generation capacity.
