Pope Leo in Africa: Cameroon separatists to pause fighting ahead of pontiff's visit

Anglophone separatists in Cameroon have announced a three-day period of 'safe travel passage' and halted fighting ahead of Pope Leo XIV's visit this week. This measure aims to recognize the spiritual importance of the papal visit and to safeguard civilian life. The Pope, currently in Algeria, will visit Bamenda, the center of the Cameroonian conflict, where he is expected to promote peace and reconciliation.
