Gold Exploitation: Cameroon Records About 200 Illegal Operators, Over 95% of Which Are Foreign Companies

In Cameroon, about 200 companies are operating illegally in artisanal or semi-mechanized gold exploitation, mainly in the East and Adamaoua regions. Over 95% of these companies are foreign, according to the Minister of Mines, Fuh Calistus Gentry. He has ordered these operators to immediately cease their activities and dismantle their facilities, or face intervention from administrative services and law enforcement.
