School abductions: UN pushes for violence-free learning environment in Nigeria

UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator Malick Fall met with the National Safe Schools Response Coordination Centre delegation led by Commandant Samuel Umanah in Abuja. The meeting addressed recent school abductions in Oyo and Borno States that resulted in the killing of two educators. Fall urged full implementation of the Minimum Standards for Safe Schools, strengthened emergency response, and the swift return of all abducted children and teachers.
