Ondo bans unverified alcoholic drinks as 30 die, 50 hospitalised

The Ondo State Government has banned the sale and distribution of unverified alcoholic drinks following the deaths of about 30 people who consumed a local herbal alcoholic mixture known as 'monkey tail'. Approximately 50 others were hospitalized due to the incident in the Odigbo Local Government Area. Commissioner for Information, Idowu Ajanaku, stated that investigations are underway to determine the substance involved and warned residents against consuming products whose authenticity cannot be verified.
