Doctors demand health funding, digital medical training

The West African College of Physicians (WACP) has called on Nigerian federal and state governments to prioritize sustainable healthcare financing, improve medical training infrastructure, and adopt affordable digital technologies. The resolutions came from the 50th Annual General and Scientific Meeting of the Nigeria Chapter, held in Ibadan from July 5 to 11, 2026, attended by 434 doctors. Chapter chairman Prof. Benjamin Uzochukwu highlighted gaps in the health system, including weak links between medical specialties, and urged building bridges across disciplines and communities.
