2026 U-20 WWC: Akekoromowei scoops POTM in Falconets’ win over England

Janet Akekoromowei was named Player of the Match following Nigeria’s 3-0 win over England in their Round of 16 encounter at the 2026 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Tosin Rafiu opened the scoring with a spectacular goal in the eighth minute, followed by Akekoromowei's goal two minutes after the break. Mary Mamudu sealed the victory 17 minutes from time. Nigeria will now meet the winner of the Poland-Colombia match in the quarter-finals.
