Heatwave in Rome: frozen treats and cooled pools for zoo animals

At the Bioparco in Rome, keepers adapt the animals' daily routine to extreme heat, offering frozen treats to giraffes, hippos, and seals, and keeping pools below 25°C. Rome is under a red alert with temperatures up to 37°C. The park also installed shaded areas, misters, and air-conditioned spaces for the most sensitive species, according to zoological manager Yitzhak Yadid.
