2026 African Player of the Year: Hakimi faces nine rivals to retain his title

Achraf Hakimi, the 2025 African Player of the Year, is among the ten nominees for the 2026 CAF Awards title. The PSG defender will compete against players including Sadio Mané, Amad Diallo and Antoine Semenyo, with Morocco and Senegal each supplying three nominees. The shortlist also includes Yoane Wissa, Ismael Saibari, Brahim Díaz, Ismaïla Sarr, Pape Gueye and Teboho Mokoena; no Cameroonian is nominated. The winner will be announced on December 7 in Lagos, Nigeria.
