2026 World Cup: Iran team to arrive in US one day before first match against New Zealand

Iran's football team will travel to the US one day before its first World Cup match against New Zealand on June 15. Spokesman Mehdi Alavi said the team will use a charter flight. Iranian Sports Minister Ahmad Donyamali warned that if any flag or symbol other than the Islamic Republic's appears, the match will be stopped. The players arrived in Tijuana, Mexico, after obtaining visas.
