The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has decided to zone its 2027 presidential ticket to the South, with a return to the North in 2031, drawing mixed reactions. This decision follows the defections of Peter Obi and Musa Kwankwaso from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the NDC, where they are tipped for the presidential and vice-presidential tickets. Chekwas Okorie, former chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, described this strategy as a 'masterstroke', stating it could enable the NDC to win the 2027 presidential election.
