With one year to go before the 2027 French presidential election, a record number of over twenty candidates have declared. The macronie camp is split between Gabriel Attal, head of Renaissance, and Édouard Philippe, mayor of Le Havre and founder of Horizons. On the left, Jean-Luc Mélenchon (LFI), François Ruffin (Debout), Clémentine Autain, and Marine Tondelier (Écologistes) are running, highlighting the fragmentation of the left.
