Umahi orders arrest of contractor over abandoned Asaba-Onitsha road

Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, has ordered the arrest of the Managing Director of Hartland Nigeria Limited due to the abandonment of the 11-kilometre Asaba-Onitsha road project, despite a payment of 14 billion Naira. During an inspection, he expressed dissatisfaction with the progress of work, which has only reached 40% of the agreement. Umahi also instructed the recovery of funds paid and immediate repairs of the deteriorating sections of the road.
